Reality Check Founder and Center Director

Emily joined the Westside Pregnancy Resource Center (WPC) as a volunteer in 2001 and was hired in 2003 to develop a pregnancy prevention program, which later became know as "Reality Check". Emily began working in the field as a model and spokesperson for the Family Research Council’s national abstinence campaign. In 2006, she was promoted to Center Director and is now overseeing the WPC’s general operations. Emily received her Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and Education from Ohio Wesleyan University. Prior to joining the WPC, she worked as an actress, tutored children through the Excel Tutoring Program in Los Angeles, and worked as a substitute teacher for Options for Youth Charter High School. Emily is certified in numerous sex-education curricula.
Jenny Wilson

Jenny Wilson
Reality Check Coordinator

Jenny was hired as Reality Check Program Coordinator in January 2007. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts from Cal State Northridge University and obtained her Master of Arts degree in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminaryn the spring of 2006. During her sophomore year at CSUN, Jenny studied overseas at the University of Brighton, England for six months. Jenny also co-lead a mission’s trip with high school students to Costa Rica in the summer of 2005. Prior to coming on board with WPC, Jenny worked as a youth intern for junior high & high school students for several years at Calvary Church of Pacific Palisades.
Corrita Concon

Having experienced the benefits of saving sex until marriage, Corrita longed to encourage teens in their quest to do the same. Corrita became a part of the Reality Check speaking team in its infancy and has had the privilege of witnessing its phenomenal growth. Her nursing school background, coupled with public speaking experience has been a valuable asset when presenting to students. Corrita is passionate about the necessity of Reality Check’s message in today’s culture and feels honored to be a part of a program that promotes awareness and positive change.
Kevin Deegan

Kevin Deegan

Kevin began speaking for Reality Check in January 2006. Kevin is currently a student at Santa Monica College working on his undergraduate degree with future plans to earn a Master's Degree in Divinity. Prior to coming on board with WPC, Kevin worked as a drama coach for high school students in his hometown of Miami, Florida. Kevin is passionate about sharing with young people the truth about how choices impact lives.
Johnathan Wilson

Johnathan Wilson

Johnathan received his associate degree in Emergency of Para medicine at Mount San Antonio College and currently works as a firefighter for LA City. Johnathan enjoys writing, playing music, and performing at different venues in LA and Orange County. He is proud to be a part of Reality Check because it represents sexual integrity in a humble way. Johnathan is married to Jenny Wilson, who he enjoys speaking along side as they share their story at local high schools.
Sarah Baer

Sarah Baer is excited to be involved in Reality Check! She is from Georgia, but now considers Los Angeles her home! Sarah received a BA in Theater from Piedmont College with a minor in photography! She is currently pursuing a career in acting. Sarah has a heart for teens and hopes that her story can help inspire kids to make positive changes and proactive decisions in their lives when it comes to sex and their futures!
Matt Mabrey

Matt Mabrey

Matt received a degree in Science Education from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Soon after graduating, Matt taught science and health education in the Missouri public schools before moving to Los Angeles in 2006. Matt is currently a biology teacher at Santa Monica High School. Matt loves to hang out with his wife, volunteer in the community, run in the mountains, go to Disneyland, and play Wii Tennis.  He began volunteering with Reality Check in May 2007 and only wishes someone would have given him a "Reality Check" when he was a teen.
